Ragdolls are a cat breed like no other. Their piercing blue eyes, long, silky soft coat, unique facial expression and gentle, affectionate nature combine to make them utterly adorable. Ragdolls make fabulous companions as they actively seek interaction with humans and are tolerant of children and other animals in the household. They are slow to mature - kittens need to stay with their mother until at least 12 weeks of age and adults are not fully mature until 4 to 5 years old. Ragdolls are a large breed of cat. Their beautiful coat evolves and changes but will always need grooming to avoid matting; especially in Summer to remove loose hair as they moult. Ragdolls come in 3 patterns; colourpoint, bi-colour and mitted. Their recognised colours are; seal, blue, lilac, chocolate, red, cream, tabby and tortoiseshell. Ragdolls are happy to stay indoors and in any event, due to their laid-back, friendly nature are not deemed equipped to defend themselves in the outside world. Having said that - many Ragdolls become like a clingy puppy and choose not to stray far from their owner when pottering around in the garden. Ragdolls give immense pleasure and bring love, fun and a huge personality to any family home - be warned though - often one Ragdoll is not enough - they are hugely addictive.
